55 private schools continue to be showcased for not reducing the fees of Sindh Education Department

KARACHI:

 Sindh Education Department has issued showcases to 55 private schools for non-payment of fees and non-payment of staff salaries.
According to a spokesman of the Education Department, the department had also sent showcases to 30 private schools two days ago.
According to the spokesperson, till now showcases have been issued to 85 private schools that have not paid staff salaries and have not reduced fees by 20%.
According to the spokesperson, if private schools do not pay staff salaries within a week, there will be stringent action and private schools will ensure a 20% reduction in student fees.
The spokesman says all private schools were instructed to pay staff timely.
It is understood that schools are closed till May 31 due to corona virus in Sindh whereas private schools have been instructed to reduce the fees in April and May by 20%.
In other provinces of the country and in the federal capital, fees were reduced by 20% and the decision was challenged in the Islamabad High Court, however, the High Court rejected the request.
